Product Activator V2: Streamlined Product Activation
Activate products in Cloud MT more efficiently with this automated, step-by-step tool.
Interface Overview
Familiarise yourself with the intuitive layout:
The Product Activator V2 interface: Sidebar navigation (left), content editing (middle), live product preview (right).
- Sidebar: Tracks your progress through the activation steps.
- Left Section: Your workspace for reviewing and editing product details.
- Right Section: A real-time preview of the product(s) being activated.
The product preview is a local representation. It will be synced with Cloud MT at several points mentioned below.
Saving Your Work
Data is saved automatically at two specific points:
- Image Step Completion: Organised images are saved to Cloud MT.
- End of Flow: All other product details (descriptions, specifications, facets, names, colour group) are saved together.
The Activation Flow
Step 1: Confirm Supplier Product Page
Start by verifying the official product page URL.
Confirming the correct supplier URL from Google search results or by manual entry.
- We suggest the most likely URL based on Google Search.
- You can manually enter a different URL if necessary.
- Confirming the URL links the domain to the brand, improving future searches.
- Turbo MT AI then extracts images, descriptions, and technical specifications from the page.
Step 2: Confirm Colour Group Products
Group products by colour efficiently.
Managing colour group products: adding, removing, setting colours, and searching.
Turbo AI automatically searches your Cloud MT product database for likely colour group candidates and suggests the best matching colour where possible.
- Review: Check the AI-suggested products for the colour group.
- Search & Add: Use the search bar (searches name & lookup code) to find and add other products from the same brand.
- Add/Remove: Easily add or remove products from the group.
- Set Colour: Assign the correct Cloud MT colour for each product using the dropdowns.
- View Existing Groups: Products already in a colour group are indicated; click to view the group’s contents.
Use the search icon on a product card to quickly look up any attribute for that specific product, aiding your grouping decisions.
Step 3: Automatic WebSIM Fetching
WebSIM automatically runs at this stage to fetch any available images and descriptions, adding them to your working data.
Step 4: Organise Images
Arrange product images visually.
In this example, Turbo AI successfully fetched, selected, and organised the images, requiring no manual edits.
Organising images: Drag and drop images between product rows to reorder or reassign.
Click an image in the product preview panel to open a larger view.
- Automatic Organisation: Images from the supplier site are automatically ordered and assigned to the relevant colour group product by Turbo AI Vision.
- Manual Control: Drag and drop images to reorder or assign them to different products.
- Image Hover Options: Hover over an image to reveal delete or duplicate options.
- Confirming this step saves the image assignments and order to Cloud MT across all products.
Deleting an image from a product row moves it to the Image Bank - it is not permanently deleted.
If any product selected in Step 2 is already active in Cloud MT, the system assumes you wish to use its existing details. Steps 5 (Descriptions), 6 (Tech Spec), and 7 (Facets) will be skipped. The active product’s data will be copied to the other products in the group. You will proceed directly to Step 8 (Format Names).
Step 5: Descriptions
Refine product descriptions.
Reviewing short and long descriptions generated by Turbo AI.
- Turbo AI combines existing Cloud MT data and supplier page information to create consistent long and short descriptions.
- If editing manually, use the Format Text button in the long description box to apply standardised formatting instantly.
Step 6: Tech Spec
Manage technical specifications. (This step is skipped if no tech spec data is found).
Reviewing the tech spec generated by Turbo AI.
- Edit: Modify the pre-populated two-column table (data sourced from the webpage or existing product).
- Add/Remove: Add or remove rows as needed.
- Format from Text: Paste raw text (e.g., from a website) into the tool using the Overwrite with New Tech Spec button, and it will structure it into the table format automatically.
Step 7: Set Facets
Assign Cloud MT facets for filtering and categorisation.
Reviewing facets pre-filled by Turbo AI.
- Review: Check facets automatically assigned by Turbo AI (based on name, description & tech spec).
- Adjust: Modify any facet using the dropdown menus.
Step 8: Format Product Names
Ensure consistent product naming conventions.
Reviewing AI-formatted product names against the originals.
- Review the AI-formatted names, which follow Cloud MT best practices .
- The original product name is displayed (read-only) for comparison.
Step 9: Preview Product
Perform a final check before saving.
The final preview stage before confirming and saving.
- Verify all details in the right-hand preview panel. Ensure everything appears correct.
Step 10: Colour Group Configuration & Final Save
Configure colour groups and save all changes.
- After confirming the preview, the system automatically configures colour groups based on your selections using the following logic:
- No products in a group: Creates a new group and adds all selected products.
- Some products in the same group (only selected products): Adds the remaining selected products to that existing group.
- Products in different groups / groups with other products: Attempts consolidation by moving selected products out of their old groups (handling master product swaps or group deletions if needed) and into a single, new group.
Products are automatically saved and activated in Cloud MT immediately after the colour group configuration completes.
Step 11: Final Screen & Next Steps
Activation is complete!
The confirmation screen showing successfully activated products.
- A summary table lists the processed products.
- For successful activations, options include:
- Edit Product: Open the standard Turbo MT product editor.
- Preview Product: View the product live on your ecommerce site.
- For failed activations, a button will be available to view the reason for failure.
Preview of the activated product showing the colour group, images, descriptions, and tech spec.
Error Handling
While the process aims to be smooth, here’s how errors are managed:
- Notifications: Errors appear in the bottom right corner with details.
- Critical Errors: These block progress and indicate a fundamental issue preventing continuation. Report persistent critical errors.
- Non-Critical Errors: Most issues (e.g., AI formatting errors) won’t halt the process. You can usually proceed by manually correcting the data for that step.
Please report persistent critical errors so we can investigate and resolve them.
The interface is designed for resilience. Even if AI features encounter problems, you can always complete the activation manually using the provided editing tools and format buttons at each step.
